The same morning, at ProTools'26, the 8th Workshop on Programming and Performance Visualization Tools (room W179b), Devarajan et al. will present Orion (10:30 to 10:54am) and DataCrumbs (10:54 to 11:18am), both with GRC coauthors. On Tuesday, November 17, four research posters will be on display in North Pre-Function from 10:00am to 5:00pm: ToolFuse and StageOnce by Yildirim et al., I/O observability extended to explainability by Rajesh et al., and GNNs Beyond HBM by Pawar et al. On Wednesday, November 18, Xu et al. will present the paper "Trigger, Render, Reason: Multimodal LLM Agents for Science-Aware Scientific Simulation Monitoring" in the session Papers in Conversation: Scientific AI at Extreme Scale (4:30 to 5:00pm, room W181abc). On Thursday, November 19, the Birds of a Feather session "Trustworthy Data at Scale: HDF5 in the Age of AI-Driven Science" will meet from 12:15 to 1:15pm in room W185d, led by Michael Breitenfeld of The HDF Group with Elena Pourmal, Suren Byna, Quincey Koziol, and Anthony Kougkas.

ChronoLog 3.2 Keeps Every Chunk Until It Is Archived (opens in a new tab)

ChronoLog 3.2.0 adds durable chunk retention. A ChronoKeeper now holds each sealed chunk until ChronoGrapher confirms it written to the HDF5 archive, and a replay reads events that are not yet archived directly from the keepers. The client protocol version changes, so clients built against 3.1 must be rebuilt. The release follows 3.1.0 and 3.1.1 in September 2026.

Four GRC Papers Presented at eScience 2026 (opens in a new tab)

Four GRC papers were presented in the main track of the 22nd IEEE International Conference on eScience, held in Naples, Italy, from September 28 to October 2, 2026. Bateman et al. describe the Agent Error Simulator, a fault-injection benchmark for multi-agent LLM workflows. Pawar et al. describe Acropolis, a semantic search system that indexes a tiered filesystem for LLM agents. Yildirim et al. describe AgentStage, which stages data while an agent is still reasoning. Xu et al. describe derived quantity operators for in situ analysis inside high-level I/O libraries.
